A Prayer For You

I said a prayer for you my friend from right here on my knees
Before the Master I brought my case I know He’ll hear my plea
I’m not quite sure for what I’m asking
But knowing He knows is most assuring
I knelt down by my bed last night and here I am again
Requesting guidance and strength for you my dearest friend
My appeal wasn't grand - very simple but I did my best
I simply said “Lord you know” and I trust He’ll do the rest
From this point on I know your need is in hands more capable than mine
And I relax knowing He’s got this and that you’ll be just fine
So when you feel you can’t go on just know I've got your back
Over and over I’ll present my case to the one who picks up the slack
He’s the Master, Lord of All, Creator,Jehovah, King of Kings
And I happen to know that He’s an expert at fixing broken things
That is why again and again and again
I’ll bow my head and knees for you my friend
He loves you so much more than I do
So I know He’ll do what’s best for you
It is no trouble, it’s truly my pleasure
To bring before Him my friend, someone I treasure
One day I know your eyes will smile and shine
And it won’t be from any work of mine
But till the day everything gets better
I’ll pray constantly bombarding the throne room of the Master

Pardoned

Pardoned, forgiven, exonerated From our sinful nature liberated All guilt, all blame, and shame Were absolved when Jesus came He came to save yet was rejected Tried and tested, yet finished perfected Sentenced to die like a common criminal A thief on each side with Him in the middle He carried the cross on that long walk The crowd stood by simply to mock With every drive of the stakes in His hands He redeemed the lives of sinful man All around the people jeered They pierced His side with a spear A crown of thorns upon His head He bore the shame for us instead Only when darkness covered the skies Did they truly come to realize The extent of the damage done When they crucified the Chosen One 7/13/14

Home

I wandered around the city Not knowing that I was lost I bought chains, rings, and baubles Not considering their cost I laid up storehouses of wealth My name known across the land I thought I'd done well for myself Built an empire by hand But if you asked me and I stopped to consider There was no life in my world full of glitter I was rich and yet exceedingly poor Surrounded by gold but empty at the core Then I heard about a country With riches yet untold So I set off on a journey To acquire yet more gold. I walked across the desert My feet burned by the sand Following my maps I journeyed to this strange land When I arrived parched with thirst I ran to the well I saw first I dipped my bucket and drew it with a cry My bucket returned to me completely dry From well to well I ran But the results were all the same Empty my bucket went down And empty up it came I rushed into the town Asking everyone around For water to quench my thirst The longing so stro...

In My Shoes

One day a friend of mine was trying to help me see that I was wrong about something. As a typical human, I instantly became defensive. How dare they attempt to correct me when they hadn't lived my life? What did they know? The story of how this poem came about and the results of our talk are posted on my sister blog: www.mytribute2him.blogspot.com . The post is titled "So I'll try again...If You Will Hold My Hand" if you want to check it out. Enjoy! In My Shoes 12/27/11 Walk a mile in my shoes Take a journey through my past Observe. Respect. Never assume. Always ask Walk a mile in my shoes Carry my burdens for awhile Suffer every fear, every hurt, each scar, each trial Walk a mile in my shoes See the world through my eyes Feel my love, see my tears, hear my silent cries Walk a mile in my shoes Before you tell me how to live Understand me before advice to me you give You say "o that's easy" Have answers for all my pr...
