In My Shoes

One day a friend of mine was trying to help me see that I was wrong about something. As a typical human, I instantly became defensive. How dare they attempt to correct me when they hadn't lived my life? What did they know? The story of how this poem came about and the results of our talk are posted on my sister blog: www.mytribute2him.blogspot.com . The post is titled "So I'll try again...If You Will Hold My Hand" if you want to check it out. Enjoy!

In My Shoes
12/27/11

Walk a mile in my shoes
Take a journey through my past
Observe. Respect. Never assume. Always ask
Walk a mile in my shoes
Carry my burdens for awhile
Suffer every fear, every hurt, each scar, each trial
Walk a mile in my shoes
See the world through my eyes
Feel my love, see my tears, hear my silent cries
Walk a mile in my shoes
Before you tell me how to live
Understand me before advice to me you give
You say "o that's easy"
Have answers for all my problems
Even get frustrated when I don't attempt to solve them
One thing and only one I'll ask
Before patience with me you lose
When was the last time

You walked a mile in my shoes?

In The Beginning

This is the first poem I'd ever written. My pastor had just given a lesson on the subject creation and I felt inspired to write this. It was my first taste of poetry and I've been hooked ever since! I believe my talent has grown much since this poem but I wouldn't want to forget where I began..... In the Beginning by Kesheena LeVasseur 02/14/09 In the beginning When God created His Son He said “ Let's make a world” Let it revolve around the Son So in the beginning A world was made The word of God tells us It took Him six days In the beginning God made Adam and Eve Out of the dust of the earth And into them life He breathed In the beginning God created a tree, Outside of the garden, Of which he told them not to eat In the beginning A choice Adam made To disobey God And go his own way And in the beginning Out of Eden they were sent And because of their sin Back to the dust they went Even now today ...

The Team Member

Another rookie.... The Team Member By Kesheena Levasseur 4/1/09 there was a little boy on a team one day He couldn't catch, he couldn't throw but on the team he wanted to stay He wasn't there to watch or play he just helped the team in his own little way The day he was chosen they didn't want him to stay He was too slow and they told him so He was a failure at their sport, the team would never win But to the championship they were on their way Because of the boy they chose that day When the trophy they got They didn't mention his name Though he'd contributed a lot to the game He'd carried the water and chased stray balls And when the boys fell, an encouragement he'd called But when he was questioned very happy he seemed for he was content just to be a part of the team Here in the Body you may not receive The attention you want but don't be deceived Hold your peace, stay in your place Everyone here is needed God sees you...

No Light

Just a quick thought with a rhyme. Yes I know it has a Dr. Suess flow to it. HAHA. You might have to read it twice to comprehend it. I wrote it and I still have to read it through twice. Well enjoy!! What if there was no light? There’d be no wrong then, right? And if there’s no wrong then there’s no right. And where there’s no right there can’t be light. And without the light we have no sight. The whole world is dark as night. So if there’s no me and there’s no you doing what God has called us to do. Then there’s no light, no wrong, no right. In essence there is no fight. So be the light you’re called to be. The kind that helps the blind to see. 8/16/14
