Judge Not

I don't remember when I wrote this but enjoy it.

who are you to judge
who are you to say
who are you  to tell them
that they can’t come this way
They may look very different
they may not seem ideal
As if God was choosing people
based on outward appeal
They may be tall and skinny
have gold teeth, dreads, and earrings
Thank the lord that Jesus
doesn’t focus on those things
They may be pierced all over
have tatooes like a poster
Just be thankful that heaven
seems to take a look much closer
Remember what you looked like
When the lord brought you this way
you wouldn’t have picked you would you
wouldn’t have given yourself the time of day
But God sent you somebody
Someone willing and determined
To be used by Jesus Christ
Ready to be his humble servant
They didn’t seem concerned
with how you treated your earthly vessel
They wanted to get much deeper
and with your spirit wrestle
They looked at you with the love of God
Shining in their eyes
almost as if they seemed to hear
your soul’s desperate cries
You remember that day dont you
I can tell by the tears in your eyes
Tears of thankfulness
That they didn’t just pass you by
So how come every time that you’re out and about
And you feel the need to witness
You single out and pass the ones
who look like they could never be this?
Next time remember where you came from
and that God’s the one who chooses
You just tell them about His love
and ignore all the differences

A Reason To Stay

I didn't want you to get bored reading all my rookie pieces so I'm throwing in one of my newer poems. I were this one night when I just felt a real urgency to give a message to the youth. It seemed like all the young people in my assembly were focusing on those that had  left us and what we needed to do about that. I sat down at my computer with a heavy spirit and the words just came..... A Reason To Stay 8/12/13 The words I pen, on this page before me, are written with my deepest conviction . As I struggle for a way to convey them, I hope I can portray my spirit of passion. It's with great emotion and words of prayer, I write this epistle to the youth of my day. I request to you who's reading this that you would take heed to the words that I say.     It seems that in the darkness of the valley lately we are losing sight Of the very reason that we work so hard to keep our torches bright. So what could be the cause of a distraction so great T...

Words

A gift from God. A powerful tool. The beginning of love. An abused privilege.   The beginning of fights.  The destroyer of trust. The ink we dip our pens into. The paint of speech.  Words.     ~ Kesheena Words .  The beginning of comprehension. They're the basis of communication among mankind. A talent taught to the youngest of babes from the beginning of life. A powerful tool that, when used correctly enhances our existence yet, is capable of destroying our emotional balance when not. An ability that we often misuse and abuse. Words begin to bombard us the minute we become conscious in the morning. The only reprieve we have from them is when slip into the blissful, unconsciousness of sleep in the night. Even then words continue to permeate our subconscious mind.  There is no escaping them.   Many of us don't realize what power we have within us. The words we use may affect people in ways we aren't even...

No Light

Just a quick thought with a rhyme. Yes I know it has a Dr. Suess flow to it. HAHA. You might have to read it twice to comprehend it. I wrote it and I still have to read it through twice. Well enjoy!! What if there was no light? There’d be no wrong then, right? And if there’s no wrong then there’s no right. And where there’s no right there can’t be light. And without the light we have no sight. The whole world is dark as night. So if there’s no me and there’s no you doing what God has called us to do. Then there’s no light, no wrong, no right. In essence there is no fight. So be the light you’re called to be. The kind that helps the blind to see. 8/16/14
